Agartala: Jan 21: Assam Rifles has made a significant breakthrough in combating drug trafficking in Tripura, seizing 60,000 yaba tablets worth Rs 12 crore in an operation on January 20, 2025 ¹. The tablets were recovered from the General Area of Salbagan in West Tripura, and two individuals, Kanai Das and Kishan Kumar Sarkar, were apprehended in connection with the illegal narcotics trade.
The seized contraband and the accused have been handed over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for further investigation and legal proceedings. This operation showcases the Assam Rifles’ commitment to disrupting cross-border trafficking networks and protecting the northeastern states from the drug menace.
