Agartala, Sep 25: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated the observance of World Pharmacist Day here at RIPSAT College premise and said that the pharmacists act as a bridge between the doctors and nurses.
Addressing the gathering of pharmacists here at Agartala on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to providing better health care services to the people of the state. Doctors, health workers including pharmacists are working responsibly in providing health services, he added.
The Chief Minister on Wednesday also inaugurated a 40-bedded Girls Hostel in RIPSAT and said that besides doctors and other health workers, pharmacists also have an important role in providing health services. Pharmacists act as a bridge between doctors and patients., he said, adding that the government has ensured adequate facilities for medical studies here in Tripura, following which the students who wish to become pharmacist are now able to study the courses like – B-Pharm, D-Pharm and M-Pharm courses in the RIPSAT college.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after taking charge of the country, said that if the North East cannot be developed, then the development of the country is not possible. It is with this vision that the Prime Minister is taking one step after another for the development and development of the North Eastern region through the Act East Policy.
Secretary of the state health and family welfare department Kiran Gitte, Acting Principal of RIPSAT Prof. (Dr.) Hrishiraj Chhetri, Director of Tripura Health Service Dr Harprasad Sharma, Additional Secretary of Health Department Rajib Datta and others were present in the programme.
