Agartala, Sept 26:
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today attended a programme at Pragna Bhavan for the distribution of appointment letters to newly recruited General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs) and Librarians. The event marked another step in the state government’s ongoing effort to create employment opportunities in key sectors.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha underlined the dedication and perseverance required to become a doctor. “It takes years of hard work and determination to complete medical education, and after that, one has to clear competitive examinations to secure a position. Today’s appointments are the outcome of such relentless effort,” he said.

The Chief Minister pointed out that the present government has consistently provided employment opportunities across different fields and remains committed to filling up vacant posts in various departments. He emphasized that such initiatives not only address manpower shortages but also ensure better public service delivery.

In his speech, Dr. Saha reminded the newly appointed candidates to remain grounded in their personal and professional lives. “One should never forget their roots and must always remember the sacrifices and contributions of their parents,” he remarked.

Highlighting the crucial role of librarians in educational institutions, the Chief Minister stated that a school cannot function effectively without a librarian, as they are the custodians of knowledge and play an integral role in shaping students’ learning experiences.

The programme was attended by senior officials, including Chief Secretary Kiran Gitte, Director of Health Services Dr. Tapan Majumder, and National Health Mission (NHM) Mission Director Saju Wahid, among others. The event concluded with the formal handover of appointment letters, bringing cheer and motivation to the new appointees.
