Hyderabad, March 29 : The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Sunday intensified its attack on the Telangana government, demanding the immediate dismissal of Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy over alleged corruption and illegal mining activities.

BRS MLAs staged a protest at Gun Park near the Assembly and later raised the issue in the House, calling for a thorough investigation either by a House Committee or a sitting judge of the High Court. Senior leaders, including T. Harish Rao and party working president K. T. Rama Rao, led the protest, holding placards and demanding a probe into Raghava Constructions, a firm allegedly linked to the minister.

The party also submitted a formal letter to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, urging immediate action. Addressing the media, K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) warned that if the government fails to act, BRS would escalate the matter to the Governor and take it directly to the public.

KTR alleged that documentary evidence presented by Harish Rao exposes a major scam involving illegal mining and regulatory violations by the company linked to the minister’s family. He questioned why the government has acted against other firms for similar violations but remained silent in this case.

He further criticised the Chief Minister’s remarks describing the company as belonging to “distant relatives,” calling the claim misleading. According to KTR, the minister’s immediate family members are directly associated with the firm, and the minister himself served as its chairman between 2020 and 2022.

Raising further concerns, KTR alleged preferential allocation of contracts to the same company under key irrigation projects and flagged discrepancies in mining revenue figures. He claimed that despite higher projections, actual revenues remain significantly lower, suggesting possible diversion of public funds.

The BRS has demanded the formation of a House Committee to probe the roles of the minister, the Chief Minister, and others involved, stressing the need for transparency and accountability in the matter.
