Agartala: Jan 27: Former Chief Minister and Politburo member Manik Sarkar has reaffirmed that the CPI(M)’s 24th state rally will proceed as planned on January 29, despite the government’s denial of a venue. Sarkar expressed confidence in the rally’s success during a press conference, emphasizing the party’s determination to move forward.
Earlier, Sarkar visited Sunil Debnath, a veteran Left Front leader, and praised his selfless commitment to helping others, regardless of their political affiliations. Sarkar also criticized the BJP’s deceptive tactics in the 2018 Assembly elections, claiming they made false promises to sway voters away from the CPI(M).
Sarkar noted that the people have now seen through the BJP’s falsehoods, particularly after the 2023 Assembly elections, where Tipra Motha played a significant role in challenging the BJP’s dominance. The CPI(M) leader urged the public to remain vigilant against the BJP’s tactics in upcoming elections.
The CPI(M) has a history of organizing successful rallies and conferences, as seen in the 24th Puducherry State Conference, which adopted several resolutions addressing various issues, including statehood status, privatization, and workers’ welfare.
