Agartala, Sep 26: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Thursday inaugurated the Indian Phytopathological Society (IPS) North Eastern Zonal meet and Academy for Advancement of Agricultural Science (AAAS) national conference on “Advance in Innovative Technologies & Plant Health Management Strategies in Climate Resilient Agriculture” (AITPCRA- 2024) in the College of Agriculture at Lembucherra.
Addressing the event, the Governor said that agriculture plays an important role in enhancing the economy of the country and society as well. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is implementing various schemes for the welfare of agriculture and farmers of the country, he added.
The Governor pitched for access to the advanced technologies in agricultural farming and said that the NorthEast region of the country should come forward and get access to the advanced methods and technologies in agriculture.
The governor expressed hope that the farmers will be able to increase their crop production by using advanced technology. He said that the farmers of Tripura are required to be trained further. Farmers of Tripura should be encouraged more in agricultural production of spices and turmeric, he added.
The governor also urged the agricultural scientists to use their researched knowledge for the welfare of agriculture and farmers.
Governor visited the exhibition pavilions of NERAMAC, NABARD and Agricultural University in the event and officially released the Scientific Abstract and Book on Serial Diseases Past, Present and Future Prospects.
BCKV VC Professor Gautam Saha, President of Academy for Advancement of Agricultural Science Professor Dharanidhar Patra, Indian Phytopathological Society Secretary Dr Kajal Kumar Biswas, GM, NABARD Anil S and others were present in the programme.
