Jerusalem, July 27, 2025: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced a daily tactical pause in military operations in specific areas of the Gaza Strip to allow for the delivery of humanitarian aid. The pause will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time and will continue until further notice, according to the IDF.

This temporary halt in operations will apply to regions where ground troops are not currently active, including Deir al-Balah, al-Mawasi, and parts of Gaza City. The move, the IDF stated, follows directives from the Israeli political leadership and is part of ongoing efforts led by COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories) to expand the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

The decision was reportedly coordinated with the United Nations and other international humanitarian organizations to ensure safe access for aid convoys. The IDF also announced the establishment of designated “secure routes” from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily to facilitate the movement of UN and NGO convoys carrying food, medicine, and other essential supplies to civilians in Gaza.

Despite the humanitarian gesture, the IDF emphasized that military operations targeting terrorist organizations in Gaza will continue in other areas. “The IDF remains committed to supporting humanitarian efforts while simultaneously conducting operations necessary to ensure the safety of Israeli civilians,” the statement read.

The announcement comes amid growing international concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza. Earlier this week, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned that conditions in the enclave are rapidly worsening. “Life is being drained out of Gaza, as systems and services are on the verge of collapse,” OCHA said in a grim statement.

The global community continues to call for increased humanitarian access and a long-term resolution to the crisis.
