Jirania, Sept 10: With Sharad Utsav approaching, a high-level review meeting was convened on Wednesday at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s conference hall in Jirania, West Tripura, to ensure smooth civic management and festive arrangements.

The meeting was chaired by Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and attended by elected representatives from local governance bodies, social workers, and senior officials from multiple line departments responsible for public services. The session brought together a wide cross-section of stakeholders with a single agenda—delivering a safe and seamless celebration for residents.

The discussion revolved around strengthening civic amenities during the festival period. Key issues included maintaining an uninterrupted electricity supply, accelerating repair of damaged roads and infrastructure, ensuring adequate drinking water, and reinforcing fire safety systems to handle emergencies.

Minister Chowdhury stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination to avoid service disruptions. He reviewed the progress of ongoing development initiatives across Jirania Nagar Panchayat, Ranirbazar Municipal Council, and several village committees under Jirania Block. Officials presented updates on current challenges as well as steps taken to improve delivery of basic facilities.

Highlighting the need for efficiency, the Minister directed departments to expedite pending works and overcome implementation hurdles. He urged concerned officers to prioritize public convenience and put citizens’ welfare at the center of all preparations. Special emphasis was laid on ensuring that civic and safety arrangements are in place well ahead of the festive rush.

The review meeting concluded with a call for collective responsibility. Minister Chowdhury underlined that Sharad Utsav is not only a cultural celebration but also an occasion that reflects community spirit and administrative preparedness. He assured residents that the government is fully committed to ensuring a joyous and secure festival season.
