Agartala: jan 30: A serious incident unfolded in Agartala, the capital city of Tripura, when a joint delegation from the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in Delhi and Guwahati carried out raids on two bookstores. The bookstores, located near Orient Chowmuhani and Jaynagar, were found selling counterfeit and illegal textbooks to students. This operation, which took place on Thursday, followed multiple complaints lodged by local authorities at the NCRT office in Delhi, leading to the investigation.
The delegation discovered that the two bookstores were selling NCERT textbooks that had been illegally printed elsewhere. These counterfeit books were of substandard quality, which raised serious concerns regarding the impact on students’ education. The illegal books were not only harming the reputation of NCERT’s educational materials but also putting students at risk by providing them with inaccurate or poorly printed content.
As a result of the raid, the police seized a large quantity of these illegal books from both locations. The authorities are taking stern action against the bookstores involved, ensuring that such unethical practices do not continue. This raid highlights the importance of maintaining the integrity of educational materials and the need for strict enforcement to prevent the circulation of counterfeit textbooks.
The incident serves as a reminder of the growing challenges in the education sector, where counterfeit educational products can undermine the quality of learning and disrupt the educational system. The NCRT’s swift response in tackling this issue demonstrates its commitment to ensuring that students receive only the best quality materials, which are essential for their academic success.
