New Delhi, Oct 24: Senior Congress leader and the party's in-charge for Tripura, Ajoy Kumar, has been fielded from the Jamshedpur East assembly constituency in Jharkhand.
Kumar's name figured in the second list of seven candidates released by the Congress for the upcoming Jharkhand assembly polls, taking the total number of names declared so far by the party to 28.
Besides being Congress in-charge for Tripura, Kumar, an IPS officer-turned politician looks after the party's affairs in
Odisha and Nagaland.
The party had released its first list of 21 candidates for the Jharkhand polls on Monday.
The Congress-Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) alliance is in power in the eastern state which will go to polls in two phases on November 13 and November 20. Counting of votes will be taken up on November 23.
