Agartala, Oct 30: The state-level celebration of Wildlife Week 2025 was organized at Surendranagar English Medium H.S. School in Hezamara, West Tripura, marking a vibrant display of the state’s commitment to wildlife conservation and environmental awareness.

The event was inaugurated by Animesh Debbarma, Hon’ble Forest Minister, Government of Tripura, who emphasized the importance of protecting biodiversity and fostering awareness among students and communities. He highlighted the role of the younger generation in preserving natural habitats and promoting a harmonious coexistence between humans and wildlife.

Brishaketu Debbarma, Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he lauded the efforts of the Forest Department in organizing awareness programs at the grassroots level and urged citizens to take active participation in safeguarding the state’s rich flora and fauna.

The program, held on the grounds of Surendranagar English Medium H.S. School, featured a range of activities including environmental exhibitions, student rallies, drawing competitions, and cultural performances centered on wildlife themes. Students and teachers from various schools across the Hezamara region participated enthusiastically, showcasing their creativity and commitment to the cause.

Officials from the Forest Department, local administrative representatives, and community leaders also attended the event. The celebration served as a platform to promote awareness about endangered species, forest protection, and the importance of sustainable living.

The Wildlife Week 2025 celebration at Hezamara concluded with a renewed call for collective action — reinforcing the message that conservation begins with awareness and responsibility at the local level, paving the way for a greener and safer planet for future generations.
