Dharmanagar, Nov 12 — In a heartfelt tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and a towering symbol of national unity and integrity, Minister for Social Welfare and Social Education Tinku Roy on Wednesday led the ‘Sardar @150 Ekta Yatra’ from Dharmanagar to Krishnapur.

The symbolic march, organized to commemorate Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, covered a stretch of nearly six kilometers—from Vivekananda Satabarshiki Bhavan in Dharmanagar to Krishnapur Government Higher Secondary School. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from government officials, local residents, students, and youth volunteers, who walked together to celebrate Patel’s enduring vision of a united, strong, and self-reliant India.

Addressing the gathering at the conclusion of the yatra, Minister Tinku Roy reflected on Sardar Patel’s monumental contributions to nation-building. “Sardar Patel’s ideals continue to guide India’s journey toward unity and strength. His foresight, leadership, and unshakeable patriotism remind us that the foundation of a great nation lies in its unity and collective resolve,” the Minister said.

Following the yatra, a tree plantation drive was organized by the District Forest Department near Dharmanagar Children’s Park roadside. Minister Roy, along with senior officials and community representatives, planted saplings to promote environmental awareness and sustainable living. The initiative symbolized the commitment to nurturing both social harmony and ecological balance.

The ‘Sardar @150 Ekta Yatra’ not only paid homage to one of India’s greatest nation-builders but also reinforced the spirit of unity and environmental responsibility among citizens. The event reflected Tripura’s continuing dedication to upholding the values of national integration, community service, and sustainable development inspired by Sardar Patel’s timeless legacy.
