Agartala, December 10:
The Tripura Tourism Department is fully prepared to host the much-anticipated Jubin Nautiyal concert—the concluding event of the Unity Promo Fest 2025—at Swami Vivekananda Maidan on December 12. Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced the readiness of the department while addressing a press conference at the Geetanjali Tourism Guest House on Wednesday.
Chowdhury said that Tripura Tourism Brand Ambassador Sourav Ganguly and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will grace the event, which is expected to draw one of the largest audiences ever recorded at the venue. Seeking cooperation from all sections of society, he urged attendees to reach the ground by 5 PM to ensure smooth management.
To streamline entry, the department has issued three types of passes—VVIP (Orange) with Gate 1 entry, VIP (Green) with Gate 2 entry, and General (Pink) with access through Gate 3. A ‘No Entry’ zone will be enforced at several locations around the venue, accompanied by robust security arrangements. “This time, the event will break all previous records, which is evident from the number of passes printed,” Chowdhury said, revealing that around 40,000 passes have been prepared based on the ground’s capacity.
The programme will also highlight Tripura’s rich cultural heritage, featuring performances by local artists. Both the Chief Minister and the Tourism Brand Ambassador will address the gathering.
Chowdhury further informed that 122 tour operators from across India and from countries including Thailand, Bhutan, Myanmar and Malaysia will participate in B2B meetings as part of the fest. He added that Tripura currently records the second-highest foreign tourist footfall in the Northeast, after Sikkim.
IG (Law and Order) stated that all previous Unity Promo Fest events were conducted peacefully and assured tight security for the grand finale. A total of eight gates—one for VVIPs, two for VIPs and five for the general public—will be set up. Officials including Tourism Director Prashant Badal Negi, SP West Namit Pathak and SP Traffic Kanta Jangir were present at the press briefing.
