Agartala, Oct 27 — Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, Special Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF) Eastern Command, along with Aloke Kumar Chakraborty, Inspector General of BSF Tripura Frontier, called on Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu at Raj Bhavan, Agartala, on Monday.

During the courtesy visit, the senior BSF officials briefed the Governor on the prevailing security scenario along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura and the various measures undertaken to ensure effective border management. They discussed the recent initiatives of the BSF aimed at strengthening surveillance, curbing cross-border crimes, and promoting cordial relations with border residents.

The officers also apprised the Governor about ongoing developmental and welfare projects being implemented for BSF personnel, including modernization of infrastructure, improved living conditions, and welfare schemes. Special emphasis was laid on the use of advanced technology and enhanced coordination with other law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and stability in the border regions.

Governor Nallu appreciated the dedication and service of BSF personnel in safeguarding the nation’s frontiers under challenging conditions. He commended the force’s role not only in maintaining border security but also in supporting local communities through civic action programmes and disaster relief efforts.

The Governor urged the BSF leadership to continue their proactive approach in fostering trust and cooperation among border residents while remaining vigilant against emerging security challenges.

The meeting concluded on a note of mutual appreciation and reaffirmed the commitment of the BSF towards upholding national integrity and ensuring the safety and security of Tripura’s border areas.

The visit underlined the strong coordination between the BSF and the state administration in maintaining peace and ensuring seamless border management across the Eastern Command’s jurisdiction.
