Agartala, Sept 2: The Tripura Industry Owners’ Association has constituted a new 13-member committee to strengthen its organisational activities and expand its engagement with the state’s industrial community. The new committee was formed during a special programme held at the Bodhjungnagar Industrial Complex, which brought together industrialists, officials and other stakeholders.
The programme focused on organisational renewal, industrial development and social welfare initiatives. In the presence of the newly elected committee members, discussions were held on various issues concerning the state’s industrial sector and the future roadmap of the association.
Speakers stressed the importance of greater coordination among industrial units and called for collective efforts to address issues faced by entrepreneurs and strengthen the industrial ecosystem in Tripura. The newly formed committee also expressed its commitment to broadening the association’s activities and working more closely with industrial establishments across the state.
As part of the programme, the association felicitated meritorious students who are children of workers and employees associated with various industrial establishments. Certificates and honours were presented to students who had performed well academically. Organisers said the initiative was aimed at encouraging students to pursue higher education and achieve greater success.
The felicitation programme was appreciated as an important effort to recognise the achievements of workers’ families and encourage education among the younger generation. Speakers highlighted the need to ensure that the welfare of workers and their families remains an integral part of industrial development.
A health camp was also organised during the programme as part of the association’s social responsibility initiatives. Local residents underwent basic medical check-ups and received health-related advice from healthcare professionals. The initiative reflected the association’s efforts to extend its activities beyond industrial growth and contribute to the welfare of the surrounding community.
Among those present were Pan Gopal Saha, General Secretary of the Tripura Industry Owners’ Association; Ratan Biswas, head of Longtarai; Sujit Roy, General Secretary of the Tripura Merchants’ Association; and Vishal Solanki, a prominent figure in Tripura’s steel industry. Other industrialists, officials and dignitaries also attended the programme.
The association said it plans to undertake more initiatives focusing on education, healthcare and social responsibility while continuing to work towards strengthening Tripura’s industrial sector.
