Agartala: Feb 01: The Agartala GRP Police successfully arrested two Indian traffickers. According to the Officer-in-Charge (O.C.) of Agartala GRP Police, Tapas Das, the arrest was made late on Friday night with the assistance of police from the Sidhai, Lefunga, and Bamutia outposts. The two traffickers arrested were involved in facilitating the illegal entry of Bangladeshi nationals into India.
The arrested individuals were Rajdhan Sarkar, a resident of Talatla Chichuria in the Sidhai area, and Akash Roy, a resident of Lefunga. The Agartala GRP Police have filed a case against them. These traffickers were primarily helping Bangladeshis to illegally cross the border into India. On Saturday, both suspects were presented in court by the Agartala GRP Police.
In response to questions from journalists, O.C. Tapas Das also mentioned that during January, a total of 9 Bangladeshi nationals and 13 traffickers were arrested at the Agartala Railway Station. This indicates the ongoing efforts of the police to tackle illegal immigration and human trafficking in the region. The police are committed to taking strict action against those involved in such illegal activities, ensuring tighter control over border security and preventing further incidents of unlawful border crossings.
