Agartala, July 4:
The Pradesh Youth Congress submitted a deputation to the Director of Health Services at the Gurkhabasti office on Friday, voicing serious concerns over persistent technical issues affecting the ongoing recruitment process for several technical posts in the state health department.

Led by State Youth Congress president Neel Kamal Saha, the delegation highlighted major problems with the online application system for posts such as Lab Technician, Radiology and Imaging Technologist, and Optometrist. The online portal, they said, has been largely non-functional, leaving thousands of candidates unable to complete their applications.

According to Saha, more than 20,000 candidates had submitted their applications online. However, due to server malfunctions, the Health Department issued a fresh notification acknowledging the glitches and inviting resubmissions. “Despite the department’s notice, the portal continues to malfunction, creating panic among aspirants who fear being excluded unfairly,” Saha said.

In their deputation, the Youth Congress demanded the immediate setup of an offline application submission system to ensure no candidate is left out. They also called for an extension of the application deadline by at least seven working days to compensate for the technical issues.

The delegation further urged the health department to invest in upgrading its online application infrastructure to avoid similar disruptions in future recruitment drives.

“The recruitment process must be fair, inclusive, and transparent,” said Saha. “No deserving candidate should suffer due to administrative or technical lapses.”

The Youth Congress stressed that the health sector relies heavily on skilled professionals, and any flaws in the recruitment process could have long-term consequences. They urged the department to act swiftly and responsibly to restore public trust and ensure a level playing field for all applicants.
