Agartala: Feb 25: The Youth Tipra Federation (YTF), the youth wing of Tipra Motha, reaffirmed its commitment to the demand for a separate tribal state by organizing a large-scale bike rally across Tripura on Tuesday. The rally, conducted in every constituency, aimed to raise awareness and mobilize participation for YTF’s first-ever Plenary Session scheduled for February 27-28 in Agartala.
Hundreds of YTF members and leaders participated in the rally, demonstrating their unity and dedication to the cause of Greater Tipraland. They emphasized that the upcoming plenary session would play a crucial role in shaping the future direction of the youth wing and, by extension, Tipra Motha’s political trajectory.
Key issues on the agenda for the plenary session include the demand for Greater Tipraland, the implementation of the Tipra Accord, and the long-overdue village council elections. The delay in conducting these elections, despite repeated court orders, has been a pressing concern for the tribal communities in the state.
James Debbarma, the central general secretary of YTF, participated in the bike rally in the Mandwai constituency and urged all members to attend the plenary session. He also addressed concerns about Tipra Motha’s political focus, reiterating that the party’s commitment to Greater Tipraland remained unwavering. “This rally is a response to those who claim we have deviated from our core demand,” Debbarma said, affirming that while Tipra Motha is focusing on development, it will not compromise on its demand for a separate tribal state.
The plenary session will be attended by prominent Tipra Motha leaders, including founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, party president Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl, and several ministers and elected representatives. It is expected to be a significant platform for discussing the delay in village council elections and the implementation of the tripartite agreement signed with the central and state governments. The session is anticipated to be a decisive moment in the party’s ongoing political journey.
