Agartala: Nov 27: Hindu Sanatanis staged a strong protest at Manu Land Customs, located on the India-Bangladesh international border in Kailashahar, in response to the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, a spokesperson for ISKCON in Bangladesh, and the ongoing attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. The protest, which began around 11 am, was led by prominent figures such as Kailashahar Municipal Vice Chairman Nitish Dey, BJP Kailashahar Mandal President Siddhartha Daw, senior lawyer Sandeep Debroy, and leaders from the Hindu Jagaran Manch, including Uttam Dey. Social workers like Bidhan Das, Dulal Das, and Milan Das also participated in the demonstration.

The protestors gathered at Manu Land Customs and began chanting slogans against the Bangladesh government. Following this, they took out a march through the streets of Kailashahar, demanding justice for the mistreatment of Hindus in Bangladesh. Nitish Dey, speaking to the media, accused the Bangladesh government of unjustly arresting Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu and called for his immediate and unconditional release. He declared that the protests would continue until Chinmoy Das was freed.

Dey also made a bold statement, announcing that all imports and exports to Bangladesh through the Kailashahar border would be suspended starting Wednesday, and this would remain in place until the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh stopped. He further called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take decisive action, including cutting off all commercial relations with Bangladesh in protest of the atrocities.

The protest, which saw a large turnout, led to significant challenges for local law enforcement. A heavy presence of police, Tripura State Rifles (TSR), and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was deployed to control the crowd and maintain order, as tensions remained high throughout the demonstration.
