Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday announced that the proposed luxury hotel project at the historic Puspavanta Palace is expected to be completed by May 2028. He said the state government has urged the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) to expedite the work and explore the possibility of finishing the project ahead of schedule.
Speaking to media persons, Dr. Saha revealed that officials from IHCL presented a detailed plan outlining the design, facilities, and overall vision for the upcoming hotel. Expressing satisfaction with the proposal, the Chief Minister said the project has the potential to become one of the finest hospitality destinations in the country.
“The IHCL officials gave us a comprehensive presentation on their plans. I am very impressed with the vision and execution strategy. As per the proposal, this hotel is going to be among the best in India. We are hopeful that the project will be completed at the earliest,” Dr. Saha said.
Highlighting the timeline, he added that IHCL has indicated a completion target of May 2028. However, the state government has requested the company to accelerate construction so that the project can be finished before the upcoming elections.
Dr. Saha also informed that the Bhumi Pujan ceremony for the project will be conducted shortly, marking the formal beginning of construction activities. The event is expected to take place in the near future, with preparations already underway.
The proposed hotel at Puspavanta Palace is seen as a major boost to Tripura’s tourism sector, aimed at attracting high-end visitors and enhancing the state’s hospitality infrastructure. Once completed, the project is expected to significantly elevate Tripura’s profile as a premium tourist destination while contributing to economic growth and employment generation in the region.
