Agartala, May 3:

From a hospital bed in Mumbai, TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma delivered an emotional yet politically charged message to party workers on Sunday, urging youth members to unite, stay vigilant against corruption, and take on greater leadership roles.

Addressing supporters on the foundation day of the Youth Tipra Federation (YTF), Debbarma—currently undergoing treatment for pressure-related health issues—said he was “fine” but used the moment to emphasise the importance of youth-driven politics. Calling them “YTF warriors,” he reminded members of the organisation’s founding purpose and its central role in his political vision.

He highlighted that many YTF members have already been given significant responsibilities, with several rising to positions such as MLAs and MDCs. Drawing a contrast with past political practices, he said youth were often used during protests but sidelined when power was attained. “This is the time for the new generation,” he asserted, noting that nearly 70 percent of Tripura’s population is under 35.

Debbarma cautioned against policymaking that ignores present-day realities like technology, communication, and the aspirations of younger citizens. Such a disconnect, he warned, could harm both current and future generations.

Reaffirming his commitment to the welfare of Tiprasa, he said politics is temporary but the future of the community depends on honest and dedicated work by the youth. He also struck a candid note on his health, urging party workers to take responsibility at the grassroots level.

Calling for proactive engagement, he asked YTF members to visit villages, ensure transparency, and keep administrative systems accountable. He acknowledged internal and external challenges but stressed that unity and integrity would be key to overcoming them.

“If you stand together, no force can stop you—not in the ADC, not in 2028,” he said, hinting at upcoming political battles.

Despite his absence, Debbarma assured supporters of his return, saying his “heart remains with every village.” He concluded by urging humility in power and commitment to the people, reinforcing his vision of a united, youth-led political future.
