Agartala, May 15:
The Office of the Postmaster General, North East-I Region, has announced that a regional-level Postal Adalat will be organised in Agartala on June 4, 2026, to address customer grievances related to postal services, savings schemes, and postal life insurance.
According to an official notification, the Postal Adalat will be held at the office of the Postmaster General in Agartala (PIN–799001) at 11:00 AM. The initiative aims to provide a dedicated platform for customers to raise complaints and seek speedy resolution of issues related to postal operations and financial services offered by the department.
Officials said members of the public who wish to place their grievances before the Adalat must submit written complaints by 4:30 PM on June 2, 2026. Complaints can be sent through ordinary post, Speed Post, or via email at pmgagartala@gmail.com.
The department has instructed applicants to clearly mention “Postal Adalat” on the envelope while addressing it to the Postmaster General, North East-I Region, Agartala. Authorities stated that complaints received after the stipulated deadline will not be considered during the Adalat and will instead be processed through the routine departmental grievance mechanism.
To ensure proper examination of cases, complainants have been asked to provide complete details in their applications, including their full postal address and registration receipt number wherever applicable. In matters related to postal savings schemes or postal life insurance, customers must also mention account numbers, policy numbers, and depositor or policyholder details.
Postal officials said the initiative reflects the department’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and improved customer service. They added that the Postal Adalat serves as an important mechanism for resolving long-pending complaints in a structured and time-bound manner.
The department also encouraged customers facing issues related to mail delivery, Speed Post services, savings accounts, recurring deposits, or insurance-related matters to make use of the opportunity and place their grievances before the regional forum.
The Postal Adalat is expected to witness participation from customers across Tripura and neighbouring areas under the North East-I Region, offering direct interaction with senior postal authorities for grievance redressal.
