The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, has sanctioned Rs 60.84 crore for the construction of the new police station building. The project is expected to provide modern facilities for police personnel and enhance the delivery of services to the public.
Noatia, who is also the MLA of Jolaibari Assembly Constituency, reviewed the proposed site and discussed preliminary aspects of the project with officials. The inspection was attended by Panchayat Samiti Chairman Tapas Dutta, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bappi Debbarma, Officer-in-Charge of Baikhora Police Station Bishnu Chandra Das, officials of the Public Works Department (PWD), and other concerned authorities.
Speaking to reporters after the site visit, Noatia said the construction work would commence once all necessary administrative procedures are completed. He noted that the demand for a new police station building had been pending for a long time and expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for approving the project.
“It has been a long-standing demand of the people of this constituency. Considering the genuine sentiments of the local residents, the Chief Minister sanctioned more than Rs 60 crore for the construction of a modern police station building. The existing police station is quite old, and I believe the new facility will significantly strengthen the policing system and improve public services,” Noatia said.
The minister further stated that the government remains committed to infrastructure development across the constituency to ensure better administrative and public service facilities for citizens.
Officials present during the visit said discussions were held regarding site selection, project planning, and other preliminary requirements. Once completed, the new Baikhora Police Station building is expected to serve as a modern law-enforcement facility, enhancing operational efficiency and providing improved services to residents of the area.
