Agartala, June 18: The Tripura government on Wednesday held a high-level preparatory meeting to review arrangements for the smooth, secure, and transparent conduct of the upcoming NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination in the state.

The meeting, convened by the Higher Education Department, was chaired by the Chief Secretary and attended virtually by the Special Secretary of the department, members of the State Level Coordination Committee (SLCC), District Level Coordination Committees (DLCCs), officials of Tripura Police, the National Informatics Centre (NIC), District Magistrates, and other key stakeholders associated with the examination process.

The meeting focused on ensuring that all necessary measures are in place to conduct the re-examination in a fair, efficient, and credible manner. Detailed discussions were held on critical aspects of examination management, including security arrangements, transportation and safeguarding of confidential examination materials, deployment of personnel, logistical support, and coordination among various departments and agencies.

Emphasizing the importance of maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency, the Chief Secretary directed all concerned authorities to strictly adhere to the guidelines and protocols issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA). He stressed that meticulous planning and seamless inter-departmental coordination are essential to ensure the successful conduct of the examination.

Special attention was given to the safe custody, secure transportation, and timely delivery of confidential examination materials. Officials also reviewed security measures at examination centres and discussed steps to provide a safe, hassle-free, and conducive environment for candidates appearing in the re-test.

Among those present was West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, who reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to extending full support for the successful conduct of the examination. He assured that all necessary arrangements would be made to ensure that candidates can appear for the examination without any inconvenience.

Officials informed the meeting that coordinated efforts are underway across departments to uphold the principles of fairness, accountability, and transparency throughout the examination process. The West Tripura district administration also reiterated its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of good governance in the conduct of public examinations and ensuring public confidence in the system.
