The Directorate of School Education, Government of Tripura, has announced the suspension of classes in all Government, Government-aided, and Private schools across West Tripura and Sepahijala districts on Monday, July 13, 2026, owing to persistent heavy rainfall and the prevailing weather conditions.
According to an urgent notification issued by the Education (School) Department, continuous rainfall has been affecting both districts, and the weather is expected to remain adverse for the next two to three hours. Keeping in view the safety and well-being of students, the authorities have decided to suspend classroom activities for the day.
The order applies to all educational institutions under the Government, Government-aided, and Private management within the two districts. The administration has emphasized that the decision has been taken purely as a precautionary measure to avoid any risk to students, teachers, and school staff due to waterlogging, slippery roads, and possible disruption in transportation caused by the heavy rains.
The Education Department has also instructed all concerned authorities, including district officials, school managements, and education offices, to disseminate the information immediately at every level so that students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders are informed without delay.
Parents and guardians have been advised not to send their children to school and to remain alert to further advisories issued by the administration or the Meteorological Department if the weather conditions continue to deteriorate.
The notification has been issued by the Director, Education (School) Department, Government of Tripura, and remains effective for July 13, 2026, until further instructions.
