Agartala, Sept 26:In an anti-drug operation, Assam Rifles achieved a major breakthrough with seizure of 2,60,000 Yaba tablets from Khayerpur.
The successful operation on Wednesday also resulted in seizure of one vehicle. The seized drugs have been handed over to the Customs department, DPF Unit, Agartala for further proceedings.
Acting on specific intelligence, Assam Rifles conducted the well-executed operation which led to the major drugs haul.
The estimated price of the seized Yaba tablets is Rs. 52 crore in the international market.
Assam Rifles in a press note said, the anti-drug operation would go a long way towards the goal of building Nasha-Mukt Bharat, a vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the anti-drug campaign being spearheaded by the Chief Minister in the state.
