Bengaluru: Mar 27: Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, has strongly criticized the state government for allegedly passing bills to avoid facing elections and burdening the people of Karnataka. Speaking to the media at the BJP state office in Malleshwaram, Narayanaswamy raised concerns about the government’s approach to governance, questioning how Greater Bengaluru could function effectively under an authority that does not represent the people’s interests.

He accused the government of “sucking people’s blood” through its policies, particularly highlighting the recent increase in milk prices. Narayanaswamy called for subsidies for farmers but condemned the decision to pass on the financial burden to the public. “If you are not qualified to govern, leave,” he demanded, criticizing the government’s failure to serve the people’s needs.

The Opposition leader also took issue with the government’s announcement of several guarantees and its decision to raise prices across various sectors. He specifically pointed to a controversial bill aimed at providing 4% reservation to Muslims, stating that it was neither in line with the law nor the Constitution. Narayanaswamy accused the government of having malicious intentions, as the bill, according to him, was designed to mislead the public even though it would ultimately be invalid.

Further, Narayanaswamy accused the government of deceiving Dalits by blocking ₹39,000 crore allocated for their welfare. He warned that the government now intended to mislead minorities with similar false promises. “You have failed the Dalits, and now you are planning to deceive minorities as well,” he alleged, condemning the government’s actions as part of an ongoing pattern of betrayal.
