Agartala, April 11: Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Friday called for both long-term and short-term strategic planning to build a strong and developed India. Speaking at the symposium titled “Future Roadmap – Northeast India 2030 and Beyond”, organized by the Assam Rifles at a private hotel in Agartala, the Governor urged citizens from all walks of life to contribute to the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” in whatever capacity they can.

Highlighting the immense potential of the Northeast, Governor Reddy stated, “The Northeast is extremely rich in biodiversity, with abundant natural and human resources. Its vibrant cultural heritage and strategic geographical location make it capable of becoming a major driver of India’s growth.” He praised the region’s unique strengths and emphasized the importance of leveraging them for national development.

He also acknowledged the efforts of the Central Government in bringing peace and development to the region. “The Northeast is largely peaceful now and has made steady progress toward prosperity,” the Governor noted, expressing optimism about the region’s future.

Governor Reddy hoped the symposium would spark meaningful discussions on the opportunities ahead for Northeast India, shaping strategies for inclusive and sustainable growth.

During the event, Lieutenant General A.S. Pentharkar, AVSM, YSM, GOC – 3 Corps, felicitated Governor Reddy for his contributions. The symposium also featured speeches by eminent personalities including Professor Dr. Prabhu Dey (RIS), Dr. Sreeradha Dutta (Jindal Global University), and Brigadier Rajdeep Chanda (National Defence College, New Delhi), who offered insights on development, security, and policy.

Brigadier Manish Rana, SM, Commander of 21 Sector Assam Rifles, concluded the event with a vote of thanks, appreciating the participation and collaboration of all dignitaries, guests, and speakers.
