Agartala, Oct 21: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Monday visited the Solid and bio-medical Waste Management Plant here at Debendra Chandra Nagar in Mohanpur, where he inspected various initiatives, including the Mechanical Compost Plant, Vermi Compost Plant, Waste Resource Center, Waste Incinerator, Common Bio Medical Waste Treatment Plant and others.
Emphasizing the need for implementation of a better waste management system in order to cope up with the rapid generation of wastes due to urbanization, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu reiterated that the garbage collected should be treated properly.
He however said that the Central government has been spending huge amounts for proper waste disposal.
