Agartala: Oct 03: Former Tripura Chief Minister and sitting Member of Parliament from West Tripura Lok Sabha Constituency, Biplab Kumar Deb, received an enthusiastic reception at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, on Friday. The warm welcome came after his appointment as co-in-charge for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, a role seen as both significant and strategic for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Hundreds of party supporters and workers gathered at the airport with slogans, banners, and flowers to greet Deb. His arrival marks the beginning of his active involvement in organizational activities aimed at preparing the BJP’s ground network ahead of the high-stakes polls in Bengal.

Deb, who has served as Chief Minister of Tripura and is currently a Rajya Sabha MP, is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the party’s grassroots structure, energizing workers, and coordinating campaign strategies in the state. His proven leadership skills and experience in steering electoral battles in the Northeast are viewed by the BJP’s central leadership as valuable assets in Bengal’s complex political landscape.

During his stay in Kolkata, Deb will participate in a series of meetings, strategy sessions, and organizational programs with party leaders and workers. Party insiders believe his presence will boost morale among BJP cadres and help in streamlining campaign efforts.

Political observers note that Deb’s appointment reflects the party’s intent to deploy experienced leaders with regional influence to bridge organizational gaps and connect with diverse voter groups in Bengal.

With the Assembly elections approaching, Deb’s new responsibility adds momentum to the BJP’s preparations, as the party aims to expand its footprint in West Bengal’s competitive political arena.
