Agartala: Nov 04:

On Monday, a crucial meeting aimed at intensifying efforts against border-related crimes was held at the Sabroom Police Station, organized by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nityananda Sarkar. The gathering brought together key security personnel, including Apu Das, Officer-in-Charge of Sabroom Police Station, Inspector Gopal from the 114th Battalion, representatives from the BSF’s 109th Battalion, and Customs Officer Abhinav Pandey.

The meeting was centered around preventive measures to address prevalent issues in border areas, including illegal immigration, smuggling, drug trafficking, child marriage, and communal tensions. Officers from various Sabroom police stations and outposts contributed valuable insights, discussing potential strategies to tackle these pressing challenges effectively. The collaborative approach highlighted the importance of inter-agency coordination in maintaining law and order.

SDPO Nityananda Sarkar underscored the significance of these monthly meetings, stating that they are essential for reinforcing law enforcement capabilities in the region. He stressed that maintaining peace and security along the sensitive border is a top priority, given the myriad challenges that can arise in such areas. The sharing of information and strategies among different agencies is vital for creating a unified front against crime.

Participants also discussed the need for increased community engagement to foster trust and cooperation between law enforcement and local residents. By working together, the authorities aim to create a safer environment for all, minimizing the risks associated with border-related crimes. The meeting concluded with a commitment to implement the discussed strategies and a resolve to meet regularly to assess progress and adapt to emerging challenges in the region.
