Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu today attended the 16th National Voters’ Day programme organized by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Office, Mohanpur, at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Hezamara, in the afternoon. The event celebrated the importance of active citizen participation in the democratic process and aimed to encourage first-time voters to exercise their franchise responsibly.

During the programme, the Governor highlighted the critical role of voters in strengthening India’s democracy and emphasized that voting is not just a right but a responsibility of every eligible citizen. He encouraged the youth to participate actively in elections and to be aware of their civic duties, stressing that informed and responsible voting is essential for good governance and sustainable development.

The event saw participation from local officials, teachers, students, and community representatives, creating an atmosphere of engagement and learning. Various activities were conducted to mark the occasion, including awareness campaigns, interactive sessions, and cultural performances by students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. These activities aimed to educate citizens about the electoral process, the importance of ethical voting, and the significance of the voter’s role in shaping the nation’s future.

The Governor also appreciated the efforts of the SDM Office and other stakeholders in organizing the programme, emphasizing that initiatives like National Voters’ Day help strengthen democratic values at the grassroots level. He encouraged citizens to promote voter awareness in their communities and to motivate first-time voters to register and cast their votes diligently.

The programme concluded with the Governor interacting with students and community members, acknowledging their enthusiasm and commitment to democratic participation. The celebration of the 16th National Voters’ Day in Mohanpur underlined the state’s focus on fostering civic responsibility, promoting voter education, and reinforcing the spirit of democracy among citizens.

This event not only celebrated the democratic right to vote but also served as a reminder of the vital role each citizen plays in sustaining India’s democratic framework.
