Mumbai, March 5: Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan and her daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a rare joint appearance at the wedding of Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, in Mumbai.
The Bachchan family attended the wedding ceremony of Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok on Thursday, drawing attention with their coordinated presence. Aishwarya opted for a silver embroidered anarkali with intricate detailing and a floor-length flared silhouette, while Abhishek Bachchan looked elegant in a classic black sherwani.
The family patriarch, Amitabh Bachchan, attended the festivities in an eggshell chikankari kurta paired with his signature shawl. Jaya Bachchan complemented the occasion in a graceful white and gold saree.
The couple’s joint appearance comes amid periodic speculation on social media regarding their relationship. Rumours of a possible separation between Aishwarya and Abhishek have surfaced intermittently over the past few years, often fuelled by their occasional solo appearances at public events. Reports had also linked Abhishek to actress Nimrat Kaur during the filming of the streaming movie Dasvi, though neither actor has addressed such claims.
Speculation intensified in 2023 when reports suggested Aishwarya was living separately. However, the couple has continued to appear together at family gatherings and industry events, including the premiere of The Archies, marking the debut of their nephew Agastya Nanda.
Married since 2007, Aishwarya and Abhishek have largely maintained privacy regarding their personal lives. Their appearance at the wedding was widely seen as a reaffirmation of family unity.
