Agartala, July 19: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday urged students to pursue academic excellence while also developing into responsible and value-driven citizens, saying that the country’s future depends on the character and commitment of its younger generation.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing a felicitation programme held at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee Town Hall in Agartala. The event was organised to honour meritorious students from the Town Bardowali Assembly constituency who secured 60 per cent or above in this year’s Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education.
Congratulating the students on their outstanding academic performance, Dr. Saha said that their achievements were the result of hard work, discipline and determination. He encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in every sphere of life and to remain committed to learning and self-improvement.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister described students as the architects of the nation’s future and said they have a vital role in shaping society. While academic success is important, he stressed that education should also instil values such as honesty, discipline, compassion and a sense of responsibility towards society.
Dr. Saha urged students to cultivate these qualities from an early stage, stating that becoming responsible citizens is just as important as achieving academic milestones. He said the nation requires not only qualified professionals but also individuals with strong moral values who can contribute positively to society and the country’s development.
Expressing confidence in the potential of the young achievers, the Chief Minister said their success would inspire many other students to work hard and realise their dreams. He also wished them success in their future academic pursuits and careers, encouraging them to continue bringing pride to their families, educational institutions and the state.
The felicitation programme was attended by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder, BJP Sadar District President Asim Bhattacharjee, Bardowali Mandal President Shyamal Kumar Deb and several other dignitaries, who joined the Chief Minister in congratulating the students for their outstanding performance and encouraging them to contribute meaningfully to society through education, dedication and responsible citizenship.
