Quetta, November 8:
Another case of enforced disappearance has been reported in Balochistan, as Pakistani security forces allegedly abducted Faraz Ahmed, a resident of Peer Muhammad Bazaar in Panjgur district, from the Satellite Town area of Quetta on November 5, according to Paank, the Human Rights Department of the Baloch National Movement (BNM).

The incident comes amid an alarming rise in cases of abductions, extrajudicial killings, and torture across the province, drawing sharp condemnation from human rights groups. Paank urged authorities to immediately verify Faraz Ahmed’s whereabouts, ensure his safety, and uphold his constitutional and human rights.

“We stand with Faraz’s family in this difficult time and call for a transparent investigation in accordance with national and international human rights obligations,” the organisation said in a statement.

Paank also revealed that at least four other Baloch civilians had recently been subjected to enforced disappearances. Among them was Abdullah, an employee of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), who was reportedly taken from Dera Bugti district by men believed to belong to Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). His fate remains unknown.

Similarly, Maroo Baloch, a resident of Hub district, was allegedly abducted by intelligence operatives from Daroo Hotel in Hub City on November 6. Another victim, Chakar Akbar, a student from Pidrak in Kech district, was reportedly taken from his residence on the same day.

Paank further stated that Mulla Salam, a resident of Dasht Ballen, was forcibly disappeared on the night of November 4. His family has had no contact since.

Condemning the continued violations, Paank appealed to the United Nations and global human rights bodies, including the UN Working Group on Enforced and Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID), to take urgent notice of the situation in Balochistan.
