A triumphant Biplab Kumar Deb, former Chief Minister of Tripura and sitting Lok Sabha MP from West Tripura, received a rousing welcome at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport on Tuesday upon his return from West Bengal, where he played a key role in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s successful election campaign.

The airport परिसर turned celebratory as party workers gathered in large numbers, beating drums, raising slogans, and showering flower petals. Supporters greeted Deb with garlands and bouquets, expressing gratitude for his contribution to what the party described as a historic electoral victory.

Addressing reporters, Deb struck a confident tone, reiterating his earlier remark that “there is no defeat in my Kundali.” He declared that the All India Trinamool Congress was now “a gone case,” asserting that the people of West Bengal had delivered a clear verdict. According to him, the results reflected a strong mandate for development and a rejection of fear-driven and appeasement-based politics.

Deb extended congratulations to the voters of West Bengal and lauded party workers for their tireless efforts during the campaign. He credited the victory to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the strategic direction of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the organisational strength of the BJP under its national leadership.

Responding to questions about remarks made by Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee during the campaign, Deb dismissed them, saying the election outcome itself was the strongest reply.

On the Election Commission’s decision to order a repoll in the Falta Assembly constituency, he welcomed the move, calling it a necessary step to uphold electoral integrity.

When asked about his future role, Deb said he would continue to follow the directions of the party’s central leadership. On the question of West Bengal’s next Chief Minister, he maintained that the decision would be taken by senior leaders at the appropriate time.

The grand in Agartala highlighted Deb’s growing prominence within the BJP, with supporters hailing him as both a regional leader and a strategist in the party’s broader political expansion.
