Agartala, May 11: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday organized a grand victory rally under the 54 Kadamtala-Kurti Mandal to celebrate the party’s recent electoral successes in the Dharmanagar by-election and Assembly elections in three states.
The rally was led by newly elected MLA Jahar Chakraborty and Tripura Pradesh BJP General Secretary and MLA Bhagaban Das. Several senior BJP leaders, office bearers, and party workers participated in the programme, reflecting the celebratory mood among party supporters.
Among those present were Mandal President Bimal Purkayastha, Block Chairman Mihir Ranjan Nath, North District BJP President Kajal Das, Hasim Talukdar, and Mandal Secretary Dipankar Nath, along with a large gathering of BJP supporters from different parts of the constituency.
The procession began from Kadamtala Motor Stand and moved through various market areas before culminating at the Natraj Mukta Mancha, where a public meeting was organized. Party flags, slogans, and enthusiastic supporters marked the rally, which created a festive atmosphere in the area.
According to BJP leaders, the party’s impressive performance in the West Bengal Assembly elections significantly boosted the morale of party workers in Tripura. Leaders said the victories in West Bengal, Assam, and the Union Territory of Puducherry have further strengthened the BJP’s organizational confidence ahead of future political battles.
In a symbolic gesture recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s widely discussed “jhalmuri” moment during his election campaign in West Bengal, BJP workers distributed jhalmuri among supporters after the rally in Kadamtala.
Addressing the gathering, Bhagaban Das claimed that the CPI(M) had been “completely wiped out” from Indian politics and asserted that people across the country were increasingly placing their trust in the BJP. He further stated that there was “no alternative to the BJP” when it comes to protecting the Constitution and safeguarding national interests.
Expressing confidence about the future, Das said the BJP would once again form the government in Tripura with a massive majority in the 2028 Assembly elections. MLA Jahar Chakraborty also addressed the gathering and spoke extensively about his victory in the Dharmanagar by-election and the party’s recent electoral achievements.
