Amid rising tension and reports of unrest following the Tripura ADC Election 2025 results, Rajib Bhattacharjee, the State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Wednesday visited several violence-affected areas across Tripura to assess the ground situation and meet party workers allegedly targeted in post-poll clashes.

During his visit, Bhattacharjee inspected damaged party offices and interacted with local leaders as well as workers who had been displaced due to recent incidents. He also took stock of the security situation in sensitive pockets where political tension has been reported in the aftermath of the election results.

Speaking to reporters, he stated, “Victory and defeat are part of democracy, but post-election terrorism can never be accepted.” He further asserted that while the party has appealed for restraint and peace, those involved in violent activities would face strict legal consequences. “No one will be spared,” he warned, emphasizing the need for law enforcement agencies to act decisively.

The BJP has alleged that supporters of the newly elected Tipra Motha Party have been involved in coordinated attacks targeting BJP workers and sympathizers in various parts of the state. According to party claims, incidents include vandalism of residences, arson at party offices, intimidation of workers, and disruption in local marketplaces, leading to displacement of several families.

One of the most affected areas reportedly includes Manu Bankul, a tribal-dominated region traditionally known for peaceful coexistence, where tensions have escalated sharply after the election outcome. The BJP has expressed concern over the deterioration of law and order in such regions.

The incidents have triggered strong political reactions across the state, with the ruling party accusing opposition forces of attempting to create unrest and destabilize normal life. Meanwhile, the state administration has intensified surveillance and deployed additional security forces in sensitive areas to restore peace and ensure law and order. Authorities have also urged all political parties to maintain calm and avoid actions that could further escalate tensions.
