Bengalore: April 03: BJP state president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra launched a strong critique of the Congress government during the party’s all-night protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru, which was aimed at opposing the Congress government’s price hike policies. Vijayendra accused the state government of neglecting the poor and farmers, emphasizing that it had no concern for providing justice to any section of society. He slammed the government for floating in the “intoxication of power,” stating that if it truly cared for the people, it wouldn’t have imposed such price increases.

Vijayendra specifically targeted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, warning that BJP workers possess the power to reduce the government’s arrogance. He declared that the people of the country and voters would ultimately humble the government. Reaffirming the BJP’s commitment to its cause, he made it clear that the ongoing protest would not end soon. He announced that on April 5, massive protests would be held across all districts and taluk centers in the state, and from April 7, a public outcry would begin from Mysore, with a religious worship of Mother Chamundeshwari as a symbolic gesture against the Congress government’s policies.

Additionally, opposition leader in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, took a jibe at D.K. Shivakumar, sarcastically questioning if he had “tightened the nuts and bolts” for Siddaramaiah within the Congress party. He criticized the Congress government for failing to fulfill its promises, particularly on guarantees for the people, and accused it of raising prices to make a profit. Narayanaswamy further suggested that admitting the truth could potentially lessen the government’s punishment for its wrongdoings.

The event saw the presence of several senior BJP leaders, including former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, Leader of Opposition R. Ashok, and former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Ashwathnarayan, who all lent their support to the protest.
