Agartala: September 30. Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Monday highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inspirational life and India’s transformative progress under his leadership over the past 10 years, emphasizing that the BJP always believes in positive politics.
Dr. Saha said this while addressing the “Karmayogi Narendra Modi” seminar organized by Town Bardowali Mandal on Monday.
“Since Narendra Modi assumed office as Prime Minister, people have breathed a sigh of relief. As PM Modi began implementing one initiative after another, people started supporting him. In 2019, we enrolled 6.19 lakh members in the BJP, and this year, our target is 12 lakh, which we will also fulfil. We are working under PM Modi’s leadership. He has always advocated for ‘One Nation, One Election,’ which has been passed by the Union Cabinet. Due to frequent elections, we face many challenges regarding developmental work. With ‘One Nation, One Election,’ development can proceed more effectively. PM Modi introduced GST, which has benefited not only the states but the entire country,” said Dr. Saha.
He also mentioned that many had predicted unrest after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, fearing riots and other issues.
“But PM Modi went ahead, and now peace prevails there. People are visiting Jammu and Kashmir for tourism. Without peace, development is not possible. Our forces were attacked by terrorists, but under PM Modi, we successfully carried out surgical strikes. We feel proud of PM Modi’s work. He is like a true guardian. Our state witnessed massive floods, and our BJP government, along with MLAs, ministers, and karyakartas, were on the ground helping the people. We draw inspiration for such efforts from PM Modi. We received significant support from the Central government under the leadership of PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. We submitted a memorandum for flood relief, and the Centre has provided us with Rs. 40 crore. Another team has arrived today. We are moving forward step by step. The Northeast, once plagued by insurgency, is now peaceful due to PM Modi’s bold decisions,” he added.
Dr. Saha further stated that the BJP has undertaken various social initiatives, such as Swachh Bharat and blood donation drives, to celebrate the birthdays of PM Modi, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, and Mahatma Gandhi. “Only the BJP can think of such initiatives, and we always engage in positive politics,” he concluded.
BJP state president and MP Rajib Bhattacharya and other dignitaries were also present at the event.
