Agartala, Feb 7:
TIPRA Motha Supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarman on Saturday said that faith is not confined to temples, mosques or churches, but that the true call of God resonates within the human heart. He also stressed that failure is as important a teacher as success and that learning from defeat is essential for personal growth and meaningful achievement in life.

Debbarman was addressing a programme organised by the United Tiprasa Forum, a non-political organisation representing indigenous communities, at the Agartala Press Club. Speaking primarily to students and youth, he underlined the importance of self-belief, describing confidence in oneself as one of the most vital keys to success.

In a candid and reflective address, the TIPRA Motha chief said that not everyone present would necessarily achieve their desired goals, but warned against viewing success as the only measure of learning. “Failure teaches us many valuable lessons. Understanding defeat and accepting it with humility is extremely necessary to move forward in life,” he said.

Commenting on contemporary social behaviour, Debbarman observed that many people today are rushing to temples, mosques and churches, often motivated by the desire to publicly display their religious identity. He remarked that spirituality is an inner experience and that God’s presence should be realised through self-reflection rather than outward show.

He further expressed concern that modern society is increasingly focused on self-promotion instead of meaningful work. According to him, this tendency stems from a lack of self-confidence. He urged the younger generation to concentrate on sincere effort, humility, compassion and inner strength rather than seeking validation through external recognition.

Quoting Mother Teresa, Debbarman called upon people to “love the hopeless,” a message that struck a deep chord with the audience and highlighted the importance of empathy and service to humanity.

Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Brishaketu Debbarman, TIPRA Motha spokesperson and former MLA Rajeshwar Debbarman, along with several other dignitaries, were present at the programme.
