Agartala, August 3: Former Member of Parliament Rebati Tripura has returned to his teaching profession after a gap of seven years, marking a significant transition from politics back to public service through education.
Rebati Tripura, who had been serving as an MP, had taken leave without pay from his teaching job during his active political career. Throughout his tenure in politics, he remained officially attached to his educational institution while opting for unpaid leave to fulfill his parliamentary responsibilities.
Confirming his return to the profession, Rebati Tripura told media persons that he has resumed teaching as he is currently not engaged in any active political responsibilities.
“At present, I have no active political agenda. Since I was on leave without pay during my political career, I have now rejoined my previous profession. Teaching has always been close to my heart, and I am happy to return to the classroom,” he said.
His decision has drawn attention from both political observers and members of the education fraternity. Many have welcomed his move, describing it as an example of maintaining a professional career alongside public service.
