Agartala, August 2: Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu virtually attended the launch of the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan” by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from Tripura Central University this morning. The nationwide campaign aims to create a drug-free India by encouraging the active participation of youth in the mission of building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).

The Governor joined the inaugural programme virtually from Raj Bhavan and witnessed the Prime Minister’s address, in which he emphasized the importance of making India’s youth free from the menace of substance abuse. Prime Minister Modi called upon educational institutions, youth organizations, parents, teachers, and civil society to work collectively in spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and promoting healthy, productive lifestyles among young people.

The programme at Tripura Central University was attended by university officials, faculty members, students, and representatives from various government departments and youth organizations. Participants pledged their commitment to supporting the nationwide movement against drug abuse and contributing to the vision of a healthy and empowered India.

Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu appreciated the Government of India’s initiative, stating that the campaign would play a significant role in safeguarding the future of the country’s youth. He stressed that the active involvement of students, educational institutions, families, and communities is essential for creating a drug-free society. The Governor also urged young people to become ambassadors of the campaign by spreading awareness among their peers and encouraging positive social values.

The “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan” seeks to strengthen the ongoing efforts of the Government of India to combat drug addiction through awareness programmes, preventive education, community participation, and coordinated action by various stakeholders. The campaign aligns with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat, recognizing that a healthy, educated, and empowered youth population is the foundation of a strong and prosperous nation.

The launch marks another significant step towards reinforcing the country’s commitment to eliminating substance abuse and inspiring the younger generation to actively contribute to nation-building through discipline, responsibility, and positive social engagement.
