AGARTALA, SEPTEMBER 8: BJP national general secretary and MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday announced a month-long nationwide organisational programme, ‘Seva Sankalp’, aimed at taking the party’s public outreach and grassroots activities to a wider level.
Addressing party workers at the BJP state headquarters in Agartala, Deb said the programme would focus on strengthening the organisation from the booth level while establishing closer engagement between workers and the general public.
He said the initiative had been planned following discussions within the party and that a two-day seminar at the BJP headquarters was recently held to brief workers about its objectives, structure and implementation.
According to Deb, responsibilities for various components of the programme have been assigned to designated leaders. The implementation will be monitored at different organisational levels, including by the state leadership and the BJP’s central leadership.
Deb said the programme would provide party workers with an opportunity to engage more closely with people and understand issues at the grassroots.
He also cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s organisational journey as an example for BJP workers, pointing to his long association with the party organisation before becoming prime minister.
“When a worker rises from the booth level to the top, he carries with him a direct understanding of grassroots realities. That experience becomes invaluable for the entire organization,” Deb said.
The BJP leader urged workers to maintain discipline and commitment while carrying out activities under the programme, stressing that organisational strength depends on sustained engagement at the local level.
He said ‘Seva Sankalp’ should not be viewed merely as a public-contact exercise but as an initiative aimed at encouraging party workers to take greater responsibility for serving people and expanding the organisation’s presence.
Deb expressed confidence that the month-long programme would be implemented across states with the participation of party workers at different levels.
He said the initiative was expected to generate renewed enthusiasm among workers while strengthening coordination between the organisation’s grassroots units and its higher leadership.
The programme will be implemented nationwide over a month, with state and local-level leaders entrusted with overseeing activities in their respective areas.
