Agartala, May 11: Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Monday presented the Award of Unit Appreciation to 35 Assam Rifles and 637 SATA Battery in recognition of their outstanding service and commendable contributions to the state and the nation.
The award ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan in Agartala in the evening and was attended by senior officials from the state administration, defence forces, and other dignitaries.
During the programme, the Governor praised both units for their professionalism, discipline, and dedicated service in maintaining peace, security, and public confidence in the region. He acknowledged the important role played by the armed forces and paramilitary units in safeguarding national interests, particularly in the northeastern region of the country.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Nallu said that the services rendered by the security forces often go beyond their official duties, especially during difficult situations and emergencies. He lauded the personnel for their commitment, courage, and contribution toward ensuring stability and security in the state.
The Governor further stated that such recognition serves as encouragement for security personnel who continue to work tirelessly under challenging conditions. He noted that the Assam Rifles and Indian Army have consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication in protecting the nation and assisting civil administration whenever required.
The Award of Unit Appreciation was conferred upon the units in acknowledgement of their exemplary performance, operational excellence, and significant contributions in various fields, including security management, coordination with civil authorities, and welfare-related activities.
Senior officers of the honoured units expressed gratitude to the Governor and the state administration for the recognition. They reiterated their commitment to continue serving the nation with sincerity and professionalism.
The ceremony concluded with a formal exchange of greetings and appreciation between the state administration and defence personnel. The event reflected the strong coordination and mutual respect shared between the civil administration and the armed forces in Tripura.
