Agartala, Oct 8 — The Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) witnessed a major boost to its organizational strength with a joining program held on Wednesday at the Conference Hall of Agartala Press Club, marking an important step in expanding the party’s grassroots base.

A total of 156 voters from 39 families officially joined the party during the event, reflecting growing public support for IPFT’s agenda of indigenous empowerment. Among the new members was Suku Ranjan Debbarma, former General Secretary of the Tripura Upajati Karmachari Sangha (TUKS), whose inclusion signals a significant shift in local political dynamics.

Presiding over the event, Minister for Cooperation and Tribal Welfare Sukla Charan Noatia extended a warm welcome to the new members by handing over the party flag. He expressed optimism about the party’s expanding influence and its role in shaping the future of Tripura’s indigenous communities.

“I strongly believe that in the coming days, IPFT will not only strengthen its base in Dhalai district but also emerge as a powerful political force across the state,” Minister Noatia said. He urged the newly joined members to take an active role in building a robust organizational structure and to remain committed to the party’s principles of social justice, self-reliance, and cultural preservation.

The Minister emphasized that IPFT’s continued growth reflects people’s trust in its mission to ensure equitable development and greater representation for the tribal population of Tripura.

The program concluded with party leaders and members taking a collective pledge to work together toward a stronger, more united IPFT that champions the aspirations and welfare of the state’s indigenous communities.
