Bengaluru, April 24: In a unified show of solidarity, several Karnataka-based Muslim organizations have extended their full support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of at least 26 innocent tourists.

Speaking at a press conference, Hazrat Moulana Mufti Iftekar Ahmed Qasmi, President of Jamiat Ulama Hind (Karnataka), said, “We stand with the country and the Prime Minister. The perpetrators must face the harshest punishment. We support any action taken to ensure they never commit such acts again.”

Calling the attack “a failure of security and intelligence,” Qasmi emphasized that terrorism must be condemned in all forms. “We don’t see religion—we see humanity. Every citizen is precious to the nation,” he said.

Chief Imam of Jamia Masjid, Bengaluru, Moulana Mohammed Maqsood Imran Rashadi, echoed the sentiment, urging the government to provide ₹1 crore compensation, government jobs, and long-term support to the victims’ families. “This massacre has shocked the entire country. Terrorism has no religion. The grief is shared not just by families of the deceased, but by the entire nation,” he stated.

Rashadi also questioned how such a large-scale attack could occur in a heavily militarized region. “With over eight lakh troops deployed and checkpoints at every corner, how did terrorists manage to infiltrate and escape? This calls for a thorough investigation.”

The terror attack occurred in Baisaran, a tourist spot near Pahalgam, where heavily armed militants opened indiscriminate fire on civilians. Prime Minister Modi cut short his Saudi Arabia visit and returned to Delhi, where he held an emergency meeting and reaffirmed India’s resolve to fight terrorism with full strength.
