Agartala: Power, Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Monday directed the police administration, including the West District Superintendent of Police, for the immediate arrest of the culprits who attacked Daniel Debbarma, who subsequently succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

The Minister today visited the home of late Daniel and met with his family members along with EM of TTAADC Runeil Debbarma, BAC chairman Ranadhir Debbarma and along with other karyakartas.

He also visited the home of another youth who was injured in the same attack.

Later, the Minister informed that on August 01, one very sad incident had occurred.

“I was in Delhi. Under my Mohanpur Assembly Constituency, there is a village called Biramohan Area where one youth, who had just completed his Madhyamik, named Daniel Debbarma, went in a place with his friends for roaming. While returning, they were attacked by a group of miscreants at Tairajbari area, and Daniel sustained serious injuries. The next day, as his condition worsened, he was admitted to GB Pant Hospital, where he sadly passed away. The entire area is gripped with grief and anger. The culprits must be brought to justice. I am deeply saddened by this loss,” said the Minister.

The Minister said that police has seized the bike of the culprits and has already instructed the West District Superintendent of Police and the Officer-in-Charge of the concerned police station to ensure the immediate and swift arrest of the attackers.

“We are hopeful that the police will arrest the culprits soon. I have given clear directions for urgent and decisive action,” said Minister.
