Agartala, March 24: In a key organisational move ahead of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, BJP’s Election In-Charge for the council polls, Mithilesh Kumar Tiwari, held crucial meetings with Chief Minister Manik Saha and state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee to review poll preparedness and strategy.

Sources within the party said the meetings focused on strengthening organisational coordination, assessing ground-level feedback, and fine-tuning campaign plans for the upcoming elections. With the BJP deciding to contest all 28 seats independently, the discussions also revolved around booth-level management and mobilisation of party workers across the TTAADC areas.

Tiwari, who has been entrusted with overseeing the party’s election strategy for the tribal council polls, is understood to have taken stock of the candidate selection process and the readiness of local units. The BJP recently announced its list of candidates for all constituencies, marking a shift from the 2021 elections when it had contested in alliance with the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT).

During his interaction with the Chief Minister, key issues such as development outreach in tribal areas, welfare initiatives, and communication strategies were discussed. Emphasis was also laid on highlighting the government’s efforts towards infrastructure development and socio-economic upliftment in the Sixth Schedule areas.

In his meeting with the state BJP president, Tiwari reviewed campaign logistics, including coordination between district and mandal units, and strategies to counter opposition narratives. Party leaders also discussed intensifying outreach programmes and ensuring maximum voter engagement ahead of polling.

The visit is seen as part of the BJP’s broader effort to consolidate its position in the tribal belt and improve its performance in the TTAADC elections. With political activity gaining momentum, the party leadership appears focused on ensuring a well-coordinated and robust campaign in the run-up to the polls scheduled next month.
