Agartala, October 2: Tripura Tribal Welfare Minister and Krishnapur MLA Bikash Debbarma on Friday reviewed preparations for a yarn distribution and government certificate presentation programme scheduled to be held in his constituency on October 13.
Debbarma chaired a preparatory meeting at the BJP Mandal office in Krishnapur, where party workers and local leaders discussed arrangements for the programme to be held at the Poush Sankranti Mela grounds near Chakmaghat Barrage.
Chief Minister Manik Saha is scheduled to attend the event and is expected to distribute yarn and hand over certificates to beneficiaries, according to organisers.
Addressing workers at the meeting, Debbarma stressed the need to ensure that eligible beneficiaries and families in the constituency are made aware of the programme.
He asked party workers to conduct an extensive outreach campaign in tribal and remote areas of Krishnapur and personally inform residents about the event.
Debbarma also emphasised that government welfare services should reach beneficiaries irrespective of their political affiliation and urged workers to focus on ensuring wider awareness of available schemes and services.
He directed party cadres to visit households and extend invitations to residents to attend the October 13 programme.
The meeting was attended by BJP Mandal general secretary Wathrai Molsum and other local leaders, workers and supporters. Members of the party's Tribal Morcha were also asked to participate in the outreach exercise, particularly in remote villages where limited communication and awareness can affect access to government programmes.
The proposed event will include distribution of yarn to beneficiaries, aimed at supporting traditional livelihood activities, besides presentation of official certificates to eligible residents.
Residents of Ratia, Durgapur, South Durgapur and adjoining areas are expected to benefit from the programme, organisers said.
The initiative is aimed at facilitating access to government services and welfare benefits among residents of the constituency, particularly in rural and tribal areas.
Preparations are underway at the Poush Sankranti Mela grounds for the October 13 programme, with local organisers coordinating arrangements for the expected gathering.
Debbarma asked workers to maintain regular contact with residents in the run-up to the event and ensure that eligible beneficiaries are not left out.
The minister said coordinated efforts at the local level would be important for ensuring wider participation and effective delivery of government services during the programme.
